Curtain Outdoor Jeweller is an outdoor motion detector. It offers exceptionally high detection accuracy and almost no false alarms. The device has a unique optical system that allows monitoring narrow areas up to 12 m (39 ft). The dual motion detection technology with two PIR sensors and a K-band microwave sensor allows filtering out false alarms caused by thermal noise, animals or plants. The detection range and pet immunity are set using a slider on the detector body, and the sensitivity is adjusted in the Ajax apps to suit the specific requirements of the property. The pre-installed batteries ensure stable performance for up to three years.

Two operating modes

Curtain Outdoor Jeweller can operate in two modes: standard and with pet immunity enabled. In standard mode, any movement in the detection area will trigger an alarm. Pet immunity is designed to ignore movement of animals up to 100 cm (3.28 ft) in size and minimize false alarms.

Object-specific motion detection

The device offers a detection range of up to 12 m (39 ft), but this can be adjusted to suit the specifics of a property. For example, the range can be set so that the detector detects doors and windows, but ignores high-traffic areas such as walkways. The sensitivity levels are also important to reduce the number of false alarms. Sensitivity should be set to low in areas where false alarms may occur, medium in most areas, and high in areas without obstructions where immediate detection of the threat is important.

Two PIR sensors

Curtain Outdoor Jeweller is equipped with two PIR sensors that ensure precise motion detection. The detector does not react to movement if only one sensor is triggered. If both sensors detect movement, proprietary digital algorithms are used. These carry out a three-stage signal analysis in a fraction of a second, filter out natural obstacles or animals and decide whether an alarm should be triggered.

K-band microwave sensor

The K-band microwave sensor verifies alarms triggered by PIR sensors. It performs a radio wave scan of an area to minimize false alarms due to thermal interference. Unlike traditional X-band sensors, the K-band sensor offers greater accuracy and energy efficiency with significantly fewer false alarms and barely noticeable impact on battery life. In addition, the sensor is completely safe and harmless to health.

temperature compensation

Temperature compensation is a software-level tool that maintains the contrast of the thermal image even when the ambient temperature is close to the temperature of the human body. Each time the ambient temperature is measured, the detector corrects the data from the PIR sensor according to the coefficient table stored in its memory. The device is reliable over the entire operating temperature range.

sensitivity level

Curtain Outdoor Jeweller's sensitivity is set in the application. A low sensitivity means the detector is less likely to respond to disturbances, while a high sensitivity ensures that any movement in the detection area will trigger an alarm. Set the required sensitivity to avoid costly deployments due to false alarms.

Safe against sabotage

The housing is equipped with a tamper contact that immediately alerts the monitoring station and the user if the device is removed from the mount. The device detects obstacles up to a distance of 5 cm from the lens, depending on the coverage method used. The system notifies the user and the NSL of such attempts to interfere with the sensor operation. With minimal polling settings (3 data packets every 12 seconds), it takes only 36 seconds to detect a communication failure and notify the security service and users about the incident.

Professional installation

Proper installation ensures high detection accuracy. The device must be mounted perpendicular to the ground and the possible access path must be perpendicular to the lens axis of the detector. If the operating mode, sensitivity and detection range are set correctly, Curtain Outdoor Jeweller reacts immediately to real threats and hardly generates any false alarms.
