The camera immediately sends push notifications (factory setting) to the corresponding smartphone/tablet via App2Cam Plus as soon as the camera detects movement on site or based on the personal settings you have selected (type of motion detection depends on the camera model, e.g. intelligent image analysis ).
You must first activate the optional sending via and to a personal email inbox (provider Web, Gmx, Google, etc.) and configure it in the notification settings.
Push notifications via App2Cam Plus
- In the app, go to: Overview > Live View > Camera Settings > Notification Settings > Push Notifications
- Use the slider to activate/deactivate the push notification function.
Email messages
- Go to: Overview > Live View > Camera Settings > Notification Settings
- Use the slider to enable/disable the email notification function.
- Go to Email.
- Enter the appropriate data depending on your personal email provider/account, see the following example:
- SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com or smtp.web.de or …
- SMTP port (depending on encryption SSL or StartTLS): 465 or 587
- Sender email address: max.muster@web.de or erika.muster@gmail.de or …
- Password: [Email account password or Gmail app password (external link to Google Support) ]
- Recipient email address: max.muster@web.de or erika.muster@gmail.de or …
- Attach snapshot: enable (if required)
- Confirm settings by clicking the “Save” button.
If the function is activated, you will always receive emails if the "motion alarm" function is also activated in the live view. Conversely, you will not receive any emails if the motion alarm is deactivated. Reasons for no or delayed messages can also be that:
- At the time the motion was detected, your mobile device had no cellular or Wi-Fi reception.
- a dispatch is suppressed by schedule.
