Reading time: approx. 2 minutes
Your Smartvest wireless motion detector detects movements using the PIR function (PIR = passive infrared). This means that it registers movements via changes in temperature in the area to be monitored. Structural or other local conditions, such as direct sunlight, radiators, underfloor heating, drafts or animals can trigger such temperature changes and thus also the motion detector.
The sensitivity of this motion detector is not adjustable and it is not animal-immune.
If you have a pet, you can alternatively use the pet-immune Smartvest motion detector FUBW35010A .
If you can rule out the reasons for an alarm mentioned above, we recommend that you first test the motion detector in a controlled environment with a constant temperature, such as in a dark box or drawer.
Does your motion detector behave normally in this environment?
Then it is best to check the previous orientation and the previous installation location. If necessary, test the motion detector with a different orientation or at a different location.
Alternatively, you can also consider securing the area to be monitored with a Smartvest wireless opening detector.
The motion detector does not behave as it should even in a controlled environment?
There may be a rare hardware defect. Within the statutory warranty period, your seller will replace or repair the item.
