HomeSiren User Manual
HomeSiren is a wireless indoor siren with a volume of up to 100 dB. Designed exclusively for indoor use. The device is quick to install and set up, is equipped with an LED (it is also possible to connect an external LED) and can be operated with batteries for up to 5 years.
HomeSiren works as part of the Ajax system by establishing a connection to the hub via the protected Jeweller protocol. The transmission range in the open field is up to 2000 meters.
The siren is set up via an app for iOS and Android smartphones. The system notifies users of all events through push notifications, SMS and calls (if enabled).
Works only with Ajax Hubs . Connection to ocBridge Plus and uartBridge integration modules is not possible.
The Ajax system is self-sufficient, but the user can connect it to the emergency call and service control center of a private security company.
Functional elements
- Illuminated display
- Siren buzzer under the fabric
- SmartBracket mounting plate (a perforated part is required to operate the tamper switch in case an attempt is made to tear the siren off the surface)
- QR code
- Tamper switch
- Socket for connecting an external indicator light
- On/Off button
functionality
Using a siren can significantly improve the efficiency of a security system, as the device is the most suitable means of responding to an intrusion. With a high probability, the alarm signal will be enough to scare off the intruders.
The device is equipped with a loud buzzer: the sound of the siren can be heard from a distance. If installed correctly, it would be difficult to disconnect and turn off the activated siren: its casing is robust, the power supply is autonomous and the on/off button is locked when the security system is armed.
Connecting the siren to the hub
The HomeSiren siren works only with the Ajax system. Up to 10 sirens or keypads with a built-in siren can be connected to one Ajax Hub.
Before establishing the connection:
- Install the Ajax app on your smartphone according to the instructions for the Hub. Create an account, add the Hub to the application and create at least one room.
- Open the Ajax app.
- Turn on the hub and check the Internet connection (via Ethernet cable and/or GSM network).
- Check the status of the hub in the app and make sure it is disarmed and not running any updates.
Only users with administrator rights can add the device to the hub
To connect the siren to the hub:
- Click Add Device in the Ajax app.
- Name the device, scan the QR code or enter it manually (located on the device body and on the packaging) and select the virtual room.
- Click Add and the countdown begins.
- Turn on the device by pressing and holding the power button for 3 seconds.
For detection and integration to occur, the siren must be within the range of the hub's wireless network (at a single protected object). If the device has already been assigned to another hub, turn off HomeSiren and follow the standard addition procedure.
When the device is switched on, a connection request is sent to the hub for a short time.
If the connection to the Ajax Hub failed, the siren will turn off after 6 seconds. You can then try to connect again. You do not need to turn off the device to reconnect.
The siren connected to the hub will be displayed in the list of hub devices in the application. The update of siren states in the list depends on the device polling time set in the hub settings; the default value is 36 seconds.

Setting the siren display after alarm is triggered
The siren can inform about the activation in the armed system via an LED display.
The option works as follows:
- The system registers an alarm.
- The siren plays an alarm tone (duration and volume depend on the settings).
- The siren LED and external LED (if connected) will flash twice (approximately once every 3 seconds) until the system is disarmed.
Thanks to this feature, system users and security response teams can understand that the alarm has occurred.
The siren display after an alarm is triggered does not work for detectors that are always active if the system is disarmed when they are triggered.
How to activate the siren display after an alarm is triggered in the PRO app :
1. Go to the siren settings:
- Hub → Settings → Service → Siren settings
2. Specify which events the sirens should inform about by double flashing before the security system is disarmed:
- Confirmed burglary/emergency alarm
- Single burglar/emergency alarm
- Lid opening
3. Select the appropriate sirens. Return to the Siren Settings menu. The set parameters are saved.
4. Click Back . All settings will be applied.
HomeSiren with firmware 5.55.2 and later supports this feature.
Specific warnings when alarms are cancelled and aborted
The devices for signaling about alarm cancellation and alarm cancellation can be selected only in Ajax PRO apps . The settings are available for hubs with OS Malevich firmware version 2.19 or higher.
In the hub settings in the PRO apps, you can select which devices should sound when the alarm is canceled and which should sound when the alarm is canceled. The alarm cancellation notification and alarm cancellation notification functions are required for systems that are to comply with the ANSI/SIA CP-01-2019 standard.

Performance test
The Ajax system allows you to perform tests to check the functionality of the connected devices.
These tests do not start immediately, but within 36 seconds using the default settings. The time until the test starts depends on the settings of the device polling period ( Jeweler menu in the hub settings).
Installing the siren
The location of HomeSiren is determined by the distance from the hub and the presence of obstacles between the devices that hinder the transmission of the radio signal: walls, false ceilings, large objects in the room.
The device was developed exclusively for indoor use.
Check the signal strength at the installation location.
The transmission range is up to 2000 meters (open field). Please take this into account when selecting an installation location for HomeSiren.
If the signal level reaches only one scale division (one bar), we cannot guarantee stable operation of the security system. Take possible measures to improve the signal quality! At least move the device: even a shift of 20 cm can significantly improve the quality of signal reception.
If the signal strength continues to be weak or unstable after moving the device, use a wireless repeater .
The recommended installation height is 2.5 meters or more. This makes it difficult for intruders to access the device in the event of a break-in.
Installation procedure
- Attach the SmartBracket mounting plate using the screws provided. If you use other fasteners, make sure they will not damage or deform the plate.
The double-sided tape is to be used only for temporary attachment of the siren. The tape will run dry over time, which may cause the device to fall off and damage it .
- Place the siren on the SmartBracket and turn it clockwise. When installed on the mounting plate, the tamper switch will turn on and the siren will flash an LED.
If the siren LED indicator does not turn on after installation to the SmartBracket, check the state of the tamper switch in the Ajax Security System app and how well the device is attached to the plate.
If anyone tries to dismantle the siren, you will receive a notification.
Do not install the siren in the following locations:
- Outdoors (outdoors)
- In places where the acoustic signal is muffled (inside furniture, behind thick curtains, etc.)
- Near metal objects or mirrors that cause attenuation and shielding of the signal
- In rooms where temperature and humidity are outside the permissible range
- Less than 1 m from the hub.
Connecting an external LED
The external LED connected to the HomeSiren is switched on at the same time as the built-in LED and repeats its display.
To connect, use the contact on the back of the siren housing and pay attention to the polarity when connecting. Black connecting wire - " + " contact.
Output power supply : 3 V, 10 mA.
Siren maintenance and battery replacement
Check the functionality of the HomeSiren siren regularly.
Clean the detector housing of dust, cobwebs and other contaminants if they occur. Use a soft, dry cloth suitable for cleaning equipment.
Do not use substances containing alcohol, acetone, gasoline and other active solvents to clean the siren.
The batteries installed in the siren ensure autonomous operation for up to 5 years (at a polling frequency of 1 minute by the hub) or at least 6 hours of buzzer sounding. When the battery is discharged, the security system sends appropriate notifications and the LED lights up gently and goes out when the system is armed.
