The "ZyMesh" feature makes it possible to achieve WLAN coverage even in places where there is no Ethernet cabling. Individual wired APs act as root APs, which enable a WDS connection to a more distant repeater AP, which in turn ensures the connection to the end devices.
These repeater APs also support VLAN, but must be operated in data tunnel forwarding mode. It is recommended to only implement ZyMesh with dual-radio APs so that the data transfer rate is not affected.
In firmware 4.1, you can use a maximum of one AP as a root AP by default. If more root APs are required, the additional ZyMesh license must be purchased.
