What does uninterruptible power supply mean?
An uninterruptible power supply, or UPS for short, refers to all technical and organizational precautions that ensure that devices and machines can function without restrictions, even if the primary power source fails. This emergency power supply is designed as a redundant system, especially for infrastructure that requires a permanent power supply for operation. In contrast to an almost seamless supply with a UPS, a general backup power supply (AEV) briefly interrupts the power supply when the primary system is switched to the secondary supply.
A UPS protects the systems connected to it from power failures, surges, frequency changes and more.
